RMIT Fintech Blockchain
​Competition 2022

The mission of the RMIT Fintech Blockchain Competition is to promote the application of Blockchain/Fintech for university and high school students. The RMIT Fintech Blockchain Competition is an annual national competition inviting current students to propose solutions for real-world problems with Blockchain/Fintech. The competition is to promote awareness of the Blockchain/Fintech application and enhance the participants’ practical skills and knowledge in tackling real-world problems.   

Anchor 1

 1 | Who can enter?

  • Open to all high school students and university students participating in teams (minimum 2 and maximum 5 members per team).  

  • Team members may come from different high schools/ universities. There can be a mix of high school and university students in a team.

2 | Conditions of entry

​Theme:

Powering a Sustainable World with Fintech and Blockchain.

Criteria:

  • We are looking for creative ideas/solutions using Blockchain/Fintech to tackle (one or multiple) United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDGs), powering a sustainable world.

  • This year, we selected five sustainable development goals as the main themes for our RMIT Fintech Blockchain Competition 2022:

  • Submission: Each team must submit 01 proposal (report) and 01 video with creative ideas/ solutions using Blockchain / Fintech. Teams should consider what are the problems that you are trying to solve, what are your proposed solutions using Blockchain/Fintech, and how can your ideas/solutions contribute to the sustainable development goals outlined by United Nations.

5 | Prizes

Fascinating prizes with total value up to 150 million VND including: 

01 First Prize:

Prizes worth around VND 50,000,000 per team with 5 team members.

01 Second Prize:

Prizes worth around VND 40,000,000 per team with 5 team members.

01 Third Prize:

Prizes worth around VND 25,000,000 per team with 5 team members.

03 Encouragement Awards:

Prizes worth around VND 11,000,000 per team with 5 team members.

01 People’s Choice Prize:

Prizes worth around VND 5,000,000 per team with 5 team members.

6 | Rounds

Teams register and submit the business proposal/white paper (report) in PDF format together with a no more than 2-minute video to showcase the project to RFBC@rmit.edu.vn before 23:59 on 3rd July 2022. Registered teams can participate in online workshops and Q&A sessions with industry experts & lecturers from RMIT.

Preliminary & Workshop

Finalist Announcement

The chosen videos will be published on fan page RFBC 2022 where audiences can vote for the People's Choice Prize. 

Top 06 teams will be chosen for the Final round. Finalists will be offered a training workshop and one-on-one mentoring with industry experts to improve your project.  

Final project presentation. The six teams will present their projects to the judges, and the best team will be the winner of RMIT Fintech Blockchain Competition 2022.

8 | Judging Criteria

Submissions will be judged on:

Judging Panels

  • Problem-solving approach 

  • Creativity 

  • Feasibility of the concept

  • Teamwork  

  • Overall presentation

9 | Rules and Regulation

  • Each team should comprise not more than 5 members. 

  • Teams will have around 8 weeks to complete their entry. Each submission should take the format of a report and a short video (for the first round) and be the original design and creation of the participants themselves. Teams can also supplement their entries with models, charts, skits or other appropriate media while presenting to the judges.  

  • All entries submitted will become the property of the organisers and will not be returned. By participating in this challenge, participants agree that their entries may be displayed and featured in the publications of the organisers and their partners. 

  • By participating in this challenge, participants also will consent and agree that RMIT's Corporate Communications Office, its employees, or agents have the right to take photographs and record videos of them during the event and to use these in any media, including social media, associated with RMIT University Vietnam, and that their name and identity may be revealed therein or by descriptive text.  

  • The decisions of the judges are final. 

  • The rules, regulations, and prizes in this competition are subject to change without prior notice, if necessary, to keep RMIT Vietnam in compliance with Vietnam laws and regulations.
