Program structure

Year 1: Foundation year in design education

Study design thinking, plus theory and practical design skills

Year 2: Specialisation and experimentation

Choose to specialise in two of the following streams:

  • Graphics and visual communication

  • Illustration and digital imaging

  • 3D concepts in interiors and exteriors

  • Fashion design

  • Mixed reality

Year 3: Studio V and internship

Build an impressive portfolio of work by taking part in project work and getting industry experience through an internship placement.

Attend free workshops to experience what it’s like to be an RMIT student

Workshop 1: Social Superhero

Imagine and draw your ideal superhero with a superhero power that can create social impact. Learn the basics of character design using your own drawing skills and creativity.

Workshop 2: Create a ‘Zine’ your way - Limited Edition

Explore the possibilities of colour, typography and texture to create your own story. Let’s compete to see whose zine is the most impressive!

Workshop 3: Photo Fun - Photo manipulation using your Mobile Phone

In this fun workshop you will be taught to edit and create exciting images, just by using FREE photo apps. Bring your phone along and some of your favourite images and let the fun begin!
